I came home tonight to expect a warm meal, unfortunately I had to settle with microwaved food because the wife was very interested to watch a dog show championship.  Eukanuba, as the major sponsor was all over the show… it is their championship show on the Animal Planet channel.

While eating my pizza, I found myself sitting down with her the entire night.  Those dogs are “show/champion quality” breeds.  I thought that dog shows were just about who the prettiest dogs were.  I found out that there are several categories based on form… and function.    My favorite was the “working group” featuring dog breeds who are usually “working” for their owners.  So you’ve got the guard dogs, the herding dogs, the fetchers, the pointers, the water dogs… ah, it was a great group show.

Reminds me of the Dog Whisperer show with Cesar Milano…  one of my personal favorites.
