According to Wall Street Journal, big technology firms are putting all their chips in and investing in wireless technology.  Every major thing in the future will be built on wireless.  Shopping, tourism, health, insurance, business, retail, communication, clothing... every major industry will be doing things wirelessly.  While I do think most of these businesses are there already, WSJ is predicting that everyone will be there... everyone. Here's an excerpt from WSJ:

"As early as Wednesday, an unlikely alliance of titans from the cable, Internet and chip industries will disclose they are investing $3.2 billion in a company ...

This post is a continuation of my Cliff’s Notes for Who Moved My Cheese, the book by Spencer Johnson, M.D. (also the Author of The One Minute Manager). Hope you enjoy my annotations of the rest of the principles!
Was watching Oprah months ago, she had this feature about different families from different cultures who are struggling to make ends meet.  I thought, well that's not original.  Everyone on planet earth, except probably for the .01% of the privileged few, STRUGGLE all the time.  From basic things like putting three healthy meals on the table everyday, medicine for the sick, education for the children, caring for the old... ah the world has too many struggles. I was about to hit for another channel when SOMETHING ORIGINAL came on.  Enter KIVA.org . Kiva is a catalyst.  It acts ...

Finally, after quite some time, I give you the Cliff's Notes for "Who Moved My Cheese"! MY cheese was moved quite so often lately, so I apologize for delivering this only now.. Last post, I had talked about Who Moved My Cheese in a general way. Today, I will give you a Cliff’s Notes version of Who Moved My Cheese. No, I won’t give you spoilers on the parable itself. But I will give you the main principles of the book. If you want to enjoy the childlike beauty of the Who Moved My Cheese parable, you better grab the book for yourself. So, ready for a few life-changing lessons now?

When you think of the word “significance,” what comes into your mind? Do you equate significance with self-worth? Pleasing your figures of authority? Money? Wealth? A thriving career?

There is one thing that saddens me about our generation, and this is the seemingly extreme materialism that we have. A generation back, our parents had toiled in order for us to experience the comforts that they themselves have missed out on. But today, the average yuppie works... To buy the next iPod, the next digicam, the latest and greatest laptop. While there is totally nothing wrong with being able to enjoy the fruits of one’s labor, and for all I know, like in my country, these young adults deserve their creature comforts too, because these young ones are the type who actually support their families or siblings, and put them through college. But there is something wrong when people focus all their energies on these “creature comforts.” Then there is something grossly wrong when people even turn to credit cards in order to fuel these wants.
I'm a big fan of Francis Kong.  He's a business speaker in the Philippines, a well respected member of local & international business communities, a sterling member of John Maxwell's team of management speakers.  Above all, I think he's what I will also call "genuine". I had the privilege of working with this man when I was 25.  I've seen him handle various business transactions...  all were above board.  I'd like to highlight one of his lectures right here, funny how he can use very simple illustrations to drive a very timeless message.  Check this short excerpt ...

Who Moved My Cheese had become a modern-day parable, of sorts, to the stressed and harassed individual, who, paradoxically, seems resistant to change. It is a collection of K-I-S-S principles wrapped in a kid-story package that is sure to be embraced by a lot of people, because it is very non-offensive. The “wrapper” story is a story of two mice and two “littlepeople,” whose attitudes to change were told around how they reacted when their “cheese” suddenly disappeared.
Every business has to have corporate values and a vision which would serve as its backbone. A business cannot run on a foundation that is built on sand, so to speak. It has to have policies that are rooted in ethical principles and manifest in policies that are favorable to both your workers and to the management and the business owners. So what does it take to make a business run smoothly?
Last week, I discussed my primitivo royale writer’s tools to maximize time. Now here is my concept survival kit, because I have yet to purchase any of these, because I had to fill my room with essentials first. I believe that the tech-savvy writer has to have the best tools of the trade in order to do his or her job excellently. These tools, these gadgets do not have to be the top-of-the-line branded stuff, but as long as they: are sturdy, durable, and will last you at least two years deliver decent to great output serve their purpose and more.. ..then they are top-notch in my book. More so if they are as hot as this baby that I deem essential to my career, and am actually aiming to get. I believe that a writer/blogger, when offline, has to have these essentials
