I was very excited about Froodee’s launching and kept on mulling over what I should write as my first post. Should I write about the importance of family? Should I write about mine? Or should I try to write about something really relevant? As it turns out Murphy’s Law hit right when Froode launched. My baby was hospitalized because of pneumonia, my uncle died of cancer, and I wasn’t able to write anything for Froodee. Of course Froodee was the last of my concerns then but any working parent would understand the craziness of trying to juggle work and family.

When you have a family you always need to prioritize. Which should you put first? The kids, work, your significant other, house work, bills, your extended family or yourself? The list goes on and on but the really crazy thing is that the answer differs throughout the day.

People often say that family should come first but while this is true it is also equally true that you can’t always just drop everything you’re doing at work to go home when your child needs you. If you do, you’ll probably end up jobless and unable to provide.

What I have found is that the key to succeeding (or just simply keeping up) in this thing called life is to know WHEN to prioritize WHAT. After that the only question is whether you have the DISCIPLINE to stick to your priorities. And of course, whether or not Murphy’s Law will strike again…
