For the life of me, I couldn’t understand even a whit how some people would love to destroy their own faces by going to a dermaclinic in a vain effort to removes their wrinkles through Botox injection. This is definitely one of life’s many incomprehensibles.
Now there’s a recent warning from the Food and Drug Administration that those who have undergone Botox treatment stand a good chance not only of looking like Michael Jackson or the Predator (remember the alien monster?) but also of suffering from muscle spasms that have led to death in some cases.
Botox is best known for minimizing wrinkles by paralyzing facial muscles.
The FDA warning includes both Botox, a wrinkle-specific version called Botox Cosmetic, and its competitor, Myobloc, drugs that all use botulinum toxin to block nerve impulses, causing them to relax.
In some cases, the toxin can spread beyond the injection site to other parts of the body, paralyzing or weakening the muscles used for breathing and swallowing, a potentially fatal side effect, the FDA warned.
The FDA has never formally approved that use for the drugs, but some other countries have.
The agency warned that people receiving a botulinum toxin injection for any reason — cosmetic or medical — should be told to seek immediate care if they suffer symptoms of botulism, including: difficulty swallowing or breathing, slurred speech, muscle weakness, or difficulty holding up their head.
The FDA warning came two weeks after the consumer advocacy group Public Citizen petitioned the agency to strengthen warnings to users of Botox and Myobloc — citing 180 reports of U.S. patients suffering fluid in the lungs, difficulty swallowing or pneumonia, including 16 deaths.
Ah, vanity, thy modern name is Botox, and it’s threatening your sanity, not to mention your soon-to-be disfigured face.
This news is a little sad for me because I am a huge fan of the TV sitcom “The Office”. I’ve been following this show for the past two years and have really admired all the characters. One of my personal favorites was Daryl, the Dunder Mifflin warehouseman whom Michael (the boss) always always try [...]

What is your carbon footprint? Hmm… ok, let’s start over… What is a carbon footprint?
A carbon footprint is a “measure of the impact human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of greenhouse gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide“.
Here’s a nifty tool from ivillage.com, an online calculator to measure carbon footprints. I think this is [...]
Well loved queen of pop Madonna has spent 50 revolutions around the sun! That’s an awesome feat for someone who’s energized the world with good music… first-class entertainer. Madonna Louise Ciccone Ritchie (born August 16, 1958) is from Bay City, Michigan. Moved to New York city for a career in modern dance. After 25 years [...]
I’ve had my fair share of local and international travels. Everytime I “hit the road” I am always brought to “hit the wall” when the time comes to pack. I just couldn’t fit what I need to bring in a small suitcase. Really! My solution? Have the wife do the packing for me. I tell [...]
While summer can be the fun-filled time of the year IT CAN also be a huge debt trap. Every year, Americans splurge on summer expenses like trips, hotels, summer clothing, gears, and gadgets. Oh and all those have-nots that people just “need” to make summer extra perfect.
Every mall will hand out “special deals” to hook [...]

28|Mar|2008Well, vanity is a sin, and the outcome of trying to look young and beautiful an addiction for plastic surgery and botox. Truly you will never feel beautiful unless you look beyond the flesh and search deeper within in your being to find out what kind of emotional baggage that is resting upon your soul.
Forever they will always be someone smarter more beautiful and more rich than you. The only way to beat your demon is to embrace every part of you and yell to the heavens I love myself and If not, you will always be in bondage.
These botox fanatics look like aliens, and it really disturb me when parents encourage their daughters to indulge in this unfulfilling lifestyle. People get some morals.
