Reese is the richest of them all Holywood belles!
But no, she was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth. The “spoon” is just a part of her surname, “wither” she likes it or not.
Thirty-one-year-old Reese Witherspoon is now at the top of the list of highest-paid actresses, according to the Hollywood Reporter – despite the fact that her latest film, “Rendition,” was a flop.
The salary list appears in The Hollywood Reporter’s “Women in Entertainment: Power 100″ issue, on newsstands since last Tuesday.
Reese commands $15 million to $20 million a movie, ahead of the second placer — 32-year-old Angelina Jolie – — who collected nearly the same figure last year although the animated “Beowulf” earned the 32-year-old actress far less — just $8 million.
Cameron Diaz was third, with a $15 million-per-movie price tag. Nicole Kidman dropped to fourth place, two spots lower than last year, with an asking price of $10 million to $15 million a film.
Renee Zellweger and Sandra Bullock also get $10 million to $15 million paychecks. So does Julia Roberts, who hasn’t appeared on the big screen since 2004. Her next film, “Charlie Wilson’s War,” is due in theaters in December.
Rounding out the top 10 are Drew Barrymore and Jodie Foster, who ask $10 million to $12 million per project, and Halle Berry, who gets $10 million a picture.
“Traditionally, the top male actors — like Mel Gibson and Tom Cruise — make around $30 million per film, with a piece of the film’s profits,” Michelle Grabicki, associate features editor at the trade publication, said.
Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon was born March 22, 1976. She landed her first feature role in the movie “The Man in the Moon” at age fourteen, followed by several moderately successful family oriented comedies and dramas in the early to mid 1990s, and then the teenage thriller “Fear,” where she became a teen idol.
Witherspoon emerged as a young woman in “Election.” She acquired her breakout role in “Legally Blonde,” a role she reprised in a sequel.
In 2005, Witherspoon received worldwide attention for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in “Walk the Line,” a role that earned Witherspoon an Academy Award for Best Actress.
Witherspoon is divorced from actor Ryan Phillippe, whom she married in 1999. They have two children, Ava and Deacon.
Now here are five interesting facts about Reese:
* She refuses to let her children watch her movies.
* She and “Brokeback Mountain” actor Jake Gyllenhaal have gone public with their relationship after enjoying a romantic weekend in Rome.
* She has kept her fame a secret from her daughter.
* She finds it difficult to trust people.
* Her son wants to become a pizza delivery boy when he grows up.
This news is a little sad for me because I am a huge fan of the TV sitcom “The Office”. I’ve been following this show for the past two years and have really admired all the characters. One of my personal favorites was Daryl, the Dunder Mifflin warehouseman whom Michael (the boss) always always try [...]

What is your carbon footprint? Hmm… ok, let’s start over… What is a carbon footprint?
A carbon footprint is a “measure of the impact human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of greenhouse gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide“.
Here’s a nifty tool from ivillage.com, an online calculator to measure carbon footprints. I think this is [...]
Well loved queen of pop Madonna has spent 50 revolutions around the sun! That’s an awesome feat for someone who’s energized the world with good music… first-class entertainer. Madonna Louise Ciccone Ritchie (born August 16, 1958) is from Bay City, Michigan. Moved to New York city for a career in modern dance. After 25 years [...]
I’ve had my fair share of local and international travels. Everytime I “hit the road” I am always brought to “hit the wall” when the time comes to pack. I just couldn’t fit what I need to bring in a small suitcase. Really! My solution? Have the wife do the packing for me. I tell [...]
While summer can be the fun-filled time of the year IT CAN also be a huge debt trap. Every year, Americans splurge on summer expenses like trips, hotels, summer clothing, gears, and gadgets. Oh and all those have-nots that people just “need” to make summer extra perfect.
Every mall will hand out “special deals” to hook [...]
