I also thought when I purchased my copy of the Da Vinci Code I got it in the fiction section, on the other side of the store from the religious studies sections. It's a pity that there are self proclaimed Christians out there that are threatened by this novel. It makes me question, not the religion itself, but the integrity of the faith of the offended. Nothing this trivial could alter my beliefs, and shame on you if your Faith is so easily influenced. Never close your mind to the possibility that there's more out there to be discovered. Few if any of these “accepted” experts have read his notes in detail or studied the man himself and thus fail to understand and make the connection that he worked outside the box. DaVinci was known to have used mirrors extensively in his writings.
