Have you ever thought about saving money without noticing it? It’s simple. Just take a look at some of the less important things in your life and see if you can cut back.
1. Drink more water.
Get a bottle, fill it up with drinkable water. Bring it with you wherever you go. Drinking water is healthier and filling. If you are full, you are less tempted to buy coffee and soda.
2. Visit the library instead of buying a book.
Books are expensive. People often buy books to put on a bookshelf and prove how educated they are. Consider going to the library and borrowing a book instead. You can read some of the latest best seller books without spending too much.
3. Switch to CFL.
Compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs will save you money because the bulbs use about a quarter of the electricity of their regular light bulb equivalents. Yes, these bulbs are a bit more expensive but the lowered electricity bill plus the longer lifespan overcomes the initial price hit without minimal cost to you.
4. Reduce your phone, television, internet package
How many cell phone minutes do you really need? How many cable channels do you actually watch? Consider reducing your cell phone and cable plans to the barest minimum you actually need. Paying less for the same service is certainly an invisible way to save money!
This news is a little sad for me because I am a huge fan of the TV sitcom “The Office”. I’ve been following this show for the past two years and have really admired all the characters. One of my personal favorites was Daryl, the Dunder Mifflin warehouseman whom Michael (the boss) always always try [...]
This post is a continuation of my Cliff’s Notes for Who Moved My Cheese, the book by Spencer Johnson, M.D. (also the Author of The One Minute Manager). Hope you enjoy my annotations of the rest of the principles!
Principle # 5:
Move With the Cheese.
(Change.)
As you spot and adapt to change, you should not only prepare [...]
What is your carbon footprint? Hmm… ok, let’s start over… What is a carbon footprint?
A carbon footprint is a “measure of the impact human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of greenhouse gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide“.
Here’s a nifty tool from ivillage.com, an online calculator to measure carbon footprints. I think this is [...]
I just got myself a PSP slim today. What fun! I already have one PSP and the reason for this purchase was to try out the player vs. player mode of Sega’s Virtual Tennis. I could tell you we played for hours! While walking in the mall, at home in the living room, and [...]
It’s not only China that’s going bike crazy, Amsterdam is following the craze with bike rentals by the thousands. If you’re heading the windmill country you may want to consider breezing through the many wonders this city has to offer by riding one of them bicycles.
CNN travel correspondent Rick Steves has written a good [...]
We all remember how good ‘ol mom would always remind us to “brush your teeth before going to bed, dear”, or “use toothpaste for heaven’s sake” or “would you please brush your molars too?”. It was good for mom to do that, if they didn’t I think half the world (or even more) would be [...]
Actress Sienna Miller has won a case against a paparazzi photo published in the Daily Star. This photo was taken when she was waiting for an elevator in an LA building. The court ruled that Ms. Miller was clearly harassed and so therefore has decided in favor of Ms. Miller, this decision after viewing a [...]

17|Jun|2007This makes so much sense. Instead of going to the library though my husband and I go to the bookstore where they allow customers to actually spend time reading the books there. I do end up purchasing some books but only occasionally when I get my hands on a keeper.

17|Jun|2007I am guilty of number 02! ^___^ Not that I’m such a show-off, it’s just that books look real pretty stacked on my shelves. And I like the idea of reading them over and over again and then playing librarian to my friends.
I just learned this recently. The mouth of a water bottle is said to be a breeding ground for germs. If you’re not going to throw it away, you must clean it thoroughly with disinfectant before re-filling it. I forgot where I got this tidbit. Must have picked it up from another online article somewhere. ~:>
