The highly anticipated return of Cobra Commander is finally here!  Following a god-awful mystical ninja plot that dragged on forever like the worst filler imaginable, G.I. Joe has finally returned to the military intrigue it’s supposed to be.  Cobra Commander’s slithering around the White House, impersonating the Chief of Staff and gradually replacing other key officials with Cobra agents.  To make matters more difficult, he’s been convincing the President of G.I. Joe’s ineffectiveness since day 1.  As a matter of fact, the US Government has just assembled a vicious counter-part to G.I. Joe; Phoenix Guard.  This team has been assembled from candidates hand-picked by Cobra Commander, so you know it can’t be good.  It feels great to read some good Joe vs. Cobra action again, and after 13 luke-warm issues, G.I. Joe is worth picking up again.
