So far, I’d say I’m enjoying the Texas Chainsaw Massacre book the most out of Wildstorm’s three New Line Cinema horror titles. This arc, “Americarnivore”, is a direct sequel to the Texas Chainsaw remake. It’s actually coming along quite good. The FBI team sent to track down any loose ends after the Hewitt Family case come across a tunnel at the Sheriff’s station which leads to the Hewitt home, filled with dozens of corpses. Meanwhile, a news crew do a story at the local meat packing plant and are introduced to some of the Family.
I really like Wesley Craig’s artwork. It’s certainly indy, no doubt about that, but with a really eerie style to it. Not as abstract as say, Ashley Woods, but certainly very dark and creepy (I particularly like his effect of turning “overflow” artwork around the edges into a “negative” style). The story is working very well as a sequel, and even makes use of the 1970’s setting (the Watergate fiasco is hindering the FBI team’s resources).
There are a few complaints, though. There’s a bit where the news woman recites, verbatum, John Lariquette’s prologue narration from the original film. I like in-jokes as much as anyone, but this was a little too blatant. Also, there’s no Leatherface in this issue. Lots of gore and a few members of the Family, but no Leatherface.
Aside from that, though, this looks to be a decent follow-up to the film, and might actually work as a movie sequel, some day.
This news is a little sad for me because I am a huge fan of the TV sitcom “The Office”. I’ve been following this show for the past two years and have really admired all the characters. One of my personal favorites was Daryl, the Dunder Mifflin warehouseman whom Michael (the boss) always always try [...]

What is your carbon footprint? Hmm… ok, let’s start over… What is a carbon footprint?
A carbon footprint is a “measure of the impact human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of greenhouse gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide“.
Here’s a nifty tool from ivillage.com, an online calculator to measure carbon footprints. I think this is [...]
Well loved queen of pop Madonna has spent 50 revolutions around the sun! That’s an awesome feat for someone who’s energized the world with good music… first-class entertainer. Madonna Louise Ciccone Ritchie (born August 16, 1958) is from Bay City, Michigan. Moved to New York city for a career in modern dance. After 25 years [...]
I’ve had my fair share of local and international travels. Everytime I “hit the road” I am always brought to “hit the wall” when the time comes to pack. I just couldn’t fit what I need to bring in a small suitcase. Really! My solution? Have the wife do the packing for me. I tell [...]
While summer can be the fun-filled time of the year IT CAN also be a huge debt trap. Every year, Americans splurge on summer expenses like trips, hotels, summer clothing, gears, and gadgets. Oh and all those have-nots that people just “need” to make summer extra perfect.
Every mall will hand out “special deals” to hook [...]
