Not the best Ultimates story ever written, at least that much is certain. It takes place after the events of Ultimates 2 #12, which you won’t be reading until September 27th. Way to time your releases, Marvel! The story in this Annual revolves around an old Nazi mad scientist who was trying to create a means to turn minorities into Aryans. The brain of the mad scientist, apparently housed in a computer, hooks up with some Klansmen and they start trying to turn the world white. Captain America teams up with Stereotypical Angry Black Man, AKA the Falcon. You can probably guess how the issue reads; the usual white people are evil, black people are oppressed in-your-face social commentary. The narrative boxes are also rather irritating, as they screw up the color (which indicates which speaker is talking) on a few of the boxes, leading to some confusion, particularly during the political debate at the beginning of the issue. A few of Captain America’s flashbacks are interesting, as some of them express how he viewed black people during 1945. Ultimate Falcon isn’t very endearing as a character, though I like how they explained his wings. Overall, though, this is a rather low moment in the Ultimate storyline, made even worse by being released a month out of order.

What is your carbon footprint? Hmm… ok, let’s start over… What is a carbon footprint?
A carbon footprint is a “measure of the impact human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of greenhouse gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide“.
Here’s a nifty tool from ivillage.com, an online calculator to measure carbon footprints. I think this is [...]

If you’ve been to HongKong, you’d definitely know the distinct experience it offers to tourists, businessmen and long-term vacationeers. Culture is the main offering that this open city offers its visitors. A mix really of several south east Asian cultures such as Indian, Vietnamese, Filipino, Singapore/Malaysian and Thai. While the Chinese culture overwhelms it somehow balances out [...]
We all remember how good ‘ol mom would always remind us to “brush your teeth before going to bed, dear”, or “use toothpaste for heaven’s sake” or “would you please brush your molars too?”. It was good for mom to do that, if they didn’t I think half the world (or even more) would be [...]
