This series is getting off to a VERY good start. There’s a lot of nostalgia for fans of the old Marvel comic book series, especially in this issue. The Pretenders are taking a major spotlight, with the lead villain being the psychotic Thunderwing. Bludgeon, my favorite of the Pretenders, gets a decent spotlight in this issue, as do another staple of the UK Marvel comic book series, the Wreckers. Don Figueroa’s art is as gorgeous as ever and there are throw-backs to the likes of Dreamwave’s the War Within series, as well. Stormbringer is shaping up to be the best Transformers series to come from IDW, yet.
