Penny Marshall is getting back into the game…of baseball. Ha! I’m a genius.
Anyway…
Marshall, who you may remember directed “A League of Their Own”, will next produce two new films centered around the game of baseball. One, will be a feature film about Newark Eagles co-owner Effa Manley. Manley was the first woman inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. She was inducted in 2006.
The second film will be a documentary about the Negro leagues. It will featureinterviews with Colin Powell, former Dodger Don Newcombe, former Giant Monty Irving, and others.
