Huangshan, which literally translates to Yellow Mountain, is considered to be one of China’s top tourist spots. This mountain is famous all over the world because of its four scenic spots– the pine forest, strange stone, cloud sea and hot spring.
Its scenic beauty starts from the natural hot spring that comes from the Purple Cloud Peak. This spring has reportedly never run dry nor overflowed. Its waters are said to have therapeutic effects on cardiovascular diseases and malfunctions of digestive and nervous systems. There are also naturally-formed rocks all around with legendary names such as “Goddess Embroidering,” “Immortal Playing Chess” and “Monkey Gazing at the Sea.”
As travelers go up, they can also catch glimpses of other spectacular attractions such as the Ciguang Pavilion and the Banshan Temple.
This mountain truly possesses a delicate kind of beauty that could only come from something greater than humankind.
It is because of this delicacy that China has decided to close off another one of the scenic peaks of the mountain for three years. This is to allow the land to rest and recover from all the tourist attention it has been receiving throughout the years. This move is only one of the many China plans to implement in the future. The project is done through a rotation series that allows part of the Yellow Mountain to be open to the public and at the same time keep the rest safe from any further damage.
