Orange to offer landline service to businesses

February 28, 2006 By Gordon

Mobile phone service provider Orange has announced it will start providing fixed-line service for businesses. Orange Landline for Business is targeted at small- and medium-sized businesses that require up to 250 lines.

A highlight of the new service is the low Orange-to-Orange calling rates, including those on Orange mobiles. This is great for firms with a mobile workforce—you can stay in touch for cheap! Other features include per-the-second charging, low pence-per-minute rates, and discounted calling rates to 10 frequently-called business contacts. Existing fixed-line subscribers can also retain their telephone numbers, with number portability.

The service would likely be of use to startup companies that need to roll out fixed lines within offices. Customers can expect added ease of use with the unified billing (only one billing for line rental and service for all the lines)—a great solution to the hassles of documenting each and every line.
