Everyone can feel a little blue once in awhile. It is normal to feel as if not everything is going your way once in awhile. Life has a way of not always doing exactly what we want it to do. Inability To Sleep
If you find yourself unable to fall asleep easily or wake up frequently throughout the night, you might be suffering from depression. When the mind is in an overworked state you can dwell on things that don’t even exist, making it difficult to be able to properly rest your body.
The lack of sleep puts the brain in a fog only increasing the depressed state makings you feel out of control with reality and more blue. Talking to your doctor about your sleeping issues is important if you find yourself going for longer than a week stretch without being able to sleep.
Disinterest In Doing Things You Once Enjoyed
If you find yourself making excuses to avoid going out and doing things that once brought you joy, this could be a major red flag. When you no longer want to see anyone and have lost the enjoyment that you used to find easily, this could be a sign of a chemical imbalance.
It is entirely possible that you simply have lost passion for something that you once enjoyed, however, it is not something that you should overlook if you abruptly no longer want to go out and do things you love. Have an honest look at your behavior and question whether you think you might be suffering from depression rather than a general change in interest.
Change In Eating Habits
Eating habits are very closely linked to how we are feeling emotionally. This can vary from person to person as some people tend to overeat when feeling down, and others eat hardly anything.
If you start to notice a dramatic shift in your relationship with food, talk to your doctor about your symptoms and explore whether something going on in your life could be attributed to this change in eating habits.
People suffering from depression tend to have shorter emotional fuses and little tolerance for things that irritate them.
