Nope, they’re definitely not running for office. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past two years, you would know that San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker and Desperate Housewive’s star Eva Longoria have been in a relationship for quite sometime now. Despite being bombarded with the usual break-up rumors that most couples in the public eye get, the two have finally decided to make their union official by getting married at Parker’s home country of France.
Fresh from winning the NBA championship and the Finals MVP trophy, Tony has played his part in planning this dream wedding by renting out a chateau for the reception. The wedding is already being billed as the wedding of the decade (take that! Tom and Katie! haha). Coincidentally, the couple were to be wed on the seventh day of July. When written down numerically, the date would read 07-07-07. Most cultures – heck even gamblers’ cultures— consider this combination of numbers as a good omen for good things to come so it’s no surprise that the wily guard and svelte tv series actress decided to tie the knot on such an auspicious date.
Prior to their extravagant service, the two were wed by the mayor of Paris himself, Bertrand Delanoe, in accordance to French laws. Eva was seen in a pink Chanel dress that she picked up shortly before the ceremony.
On tap for the event were Longoria’s co-stars from Desperate Housewives Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman and Nicolette Sheridan as well as other stars like Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas.
