How To Find the Perfect Landing Pad

April 12, 2017 By Olivia M

There are almost an infinite number of variables when it comes to choosing the perfect place to live, because the idea of perfect is in itself a bit of a moving target. But your landing pad, at the very least, needs to satisfy your basic desires and requirements. So thinking of it that way, what are the ways that you can find your perfect landing pad?

Five pieces of general advice to get you thinking in the right direction include searching for the most modern available residences, going by price tag alone, thinking about the activities that are nearby a locale, collaborating with like minds about your decision, and thinking long-term about your potential to be happy in a certain place.

Search The Modern Joints

Depending on where you’re at in your life, finding a modern living situation may be the ticket to finding a happy way of life. The idea of modern often means the latest philosophy baked into the latest apartments or home for rent. That means the latest appliances, the latest hookups, the latest technology, and potentially things like energy efficiency or sustainable living being a high priority, which is super important to some people.

Go By Price

Figuring out where to live by price alone is definitely one way to approach finding your ideal place to live as well. Ultimately, you can’t live somewhere if you can’t afford it, and on the other side of the spectrum, if you get a place that’s far enough under your budget, you can use that extra money to either save for a rainy day, or buy things that you might otherwise consider luxuries.

Think About Activities

Some people will find the best place to live is more about what things to do are nearby rather than what the actual condition of the home is. If you can find a place in a city where you love all of the local shops and events, then it won’t matter as much about the specifics of the house or room where you’re staying. Check event listings in various areas to help you with this style of decision.

Collaborate with Like Minds

If you’re feeling stuck about housing decisions, maybe talk to your friends, family, or other like minds about the possibilities. If you’re going to have a roommate, they’ll obviously have preferences in mind, and between the two of you, you’ll come up with a list that satisfies needs all around.

Think Long-Term

And finally, if you really want the perfect pad, you want the perfect pad to last awhile, and that means thinking long-term about things like rent, the quality of the neighborhood, how far your jobs are away, and details like that. Finding a perfect place that’s just temporary will ultimately cause a lot of frustration when you have to move again.
