3 Tips For Having Tighter, Younger-Looking Skin

April 24, 2020 By Olivia M

For most women, one item on their wishlist would be to have tighter, firmer, and younger-looking skin. However, once you?ve done damage to your skin, it usually takes some extreme measures to get that youthful look back. Because of this, it?s important that you take good care of your skin while it?s still young and fresh so that you don?t have such an uphill battle to fight once age starts setting in.

To show you how this can be done, here are three tips for having tighter, younger-looking skin.

Protect Your Skin With Sunscreen

According to Lindsay Silberman and Roxanne Adamiyatt, contributors to Town and Country Magazine, one of the best and easiest ways to protect your skin from damage and keep it looking firm is to wear sunscreen.

Ideally, the sunscreen you wear should be at least SPF 25 and protect your skin from broad-spectrum rays, including UVA and UVB. In addition to this, you should also look for a sunscreen that is unscented to prevent any type of reaction to those chemicals that could further cause damage.

When you’re applying your sunscreen, make sure you don’t give your face all the attention. Your neck will also start to show tell-tale signs of age before other areas of your skin, so be sure to generously apply sunscreen to your neck as well.

Get A Good Moisturizer

One reason women’s skin tends to look older, saggier, and more crepey as they age is because their skin has lost a lot of moisture. To combat this, you simply need to find a moisturizer that will work great with your skin.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology Association, many of the over-the-counter and prescription skin-firming creams and lotions tend to work at reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles simply because they have adequately moisturized the skin. So if you use a product that you see results with, make sure you use that product regularly to maintain those results.

Try Non-Surgical Office Treatments

One step above topical creams and lotions but before undergoing surgery are non-surgical office treatments that can help to turn back the clock on the look and feel of your skin.

Cynthia Cobb, a contributor to Healthline.com, shares that some of the most common non-surgical procedures that people will have done in a dermatology office include things like peels, ultrasound therapy, microneedling, Botox, and more. If you’re interested in anything like this, speak with your dermatologist to see what your options are and what procedures will get you the results you want.

To get the firmer, younger-looking skin you’ve been searching for, consider using the tips mentioned above as part of your beauty routine.
