Matt Damon told the press yesterday at Cannes how he felt about his two feature film franchises and their futures. He says that while it’s unlikely, he is open to the idea of doing another Ocean’s film, but he is officially through with the Bourne Franchise. When discussing it he said, “The ‘Bourne’ thing I’m definitely done with… we have ridden that horse as far as we can.”
He went on to say that he’s fine with another actor taking on the role, stating that “The character lives on in the books and if someone else wanted to play it, I guess they could.”
Will we see more Bourne sans Damon? That depends on the box office of “The Bourne Ultimatum” that is heading to theaters this summer, but based on Damon’s lack of enthusiasm about the project, I have my doubts as to if Ultimatum is going to be a winner….we’ll just have to wait and see.
