So Saw 3 hasn’t even been released yet and already a 4th installment is planned for next year.
We received multiple confirmations yesterday that various writers have been tapped to write different scripts for Saw 4, which would hit theaters next October if Saw 3 performs well the weekend of October 27th.
Personally, I love this annual Saw-thing Lions Gate has going on. It takes me back to the days when there was a new Friday the 13th film every single year. Of course they weren’t “specatcular” films; you don’t go to a Friday the 13th film expecting to see high art. You go to see a guy in a hockey mask slaughter stupid kids. Likewise, with the Saw franchise, you go to see Jigsaw torture a bunch of jerks with ingenius deathtraps.
And that’s good-enough for me.
