women should learn to network

December 13, 2005 By Gordon

Women have a chance to achieve better equality and climb the promotional ladder if they would just develop their networking skills.

This was the statement made by Professor Paul Seabright in a speech he made to the Royal Economic Society in Edinburgh. He said that the difference in the manner females and males make contact contributes to the disproportion on the career ladder.

He said men network while women try to strengthen their existing relationships. This leads to talented women missing out on job openings because there names are not being circulated in the right circles.

Company formation and business solutions experts are advising women to look into the observations of Seabright and assess if it is something that they should heed.
