Kristy Lee Cook was eliminated from American Idol, but we applaud her for dealing with it with charm and even humor.

Though her performances have been so-so (her voice just couldn’t handle Mariah Carey’s songs, even in her country version of Forever Paula Abdul believes she’s got a career in country music. We hope she does succeed, after selling her horse to buy a plane ticket to audition for the show (and the schmuck of a buyer refusing to sell it back to her).

Her finest moment may have been her farewell performance, where she sat on the judges table and sang to Simon Cowell: “Those days of love are gone / Our time is through … ”
