Dancing with Stars Finale disappointing

Is it just us, but don’t you think the Dancing with the Stars finale fell way, way below expectations? It was such an exciting season with arguably one of the best collection of talent, but suddenly everyone just lost their mojo — not to mention their fashion taste. Marie Osmond’s costume looked like it was designed by Charlie Brown; her second outfit (a baby doll dress) was as weird as the odd, jerky movements she’d incorporated in the choreography (“It’s Baby Jane meets the bride of Chucky,” said Tonioli.) Melanie Brown was blah, and Juliane and Helio’s footwork was lousy. (The gold jumpsuit also made him look like a Brazilian Power Ranger, observed Tom Bergeron.)

And the DWTS award goes to…

Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough (who, with Cheryl Burke, becomes the second pro partner to be back-to-back champions).

It was a well-deserved title, after facing tight competition. So glad that Marie Osmond didn’t get it — yes, we know people love her, but after that surreal freestyle number, we all know she’s better off designing dolls than dressing up like one.

Hope the next season is just as exciting as this one — but with better costumes.

Osmond family reunites on Oprah

The show must go on. Despite grieving for her father’s death, Marie Osmond has promised to continue her quest for the “Dancing with Stars” title.

She and the rest of the Osmond clan will also appear on Oprah this Friday, for one of the biggest family reunions (100, and counting!) She and brother Donny will sing the theme from “The Donny and Marie” show, and they will both perform solo numbers — all in tribute to their father.

Qiuite a send-off for the Osmond patriarch, who passed away peacefully at the age of 90, days after Marie dedicated one of her dance numbers to him.
