MGM Launching Nostalgic Network

December 7, 2023 By Marie F

MGM is launching its own broadcast network. Sort of.

Set for digital broadcast is “Me-TV,” a network which MGM is filling with classic shows from its own library. Titles include Cheers, M*A*S*H, Star Trek, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Bob Newhart Show, and the original Green Hornet. Me-TV, which stands for “Memorable Entertainment TV,” is a collaboration between MGM and Weigel Broadcasting of Chicago.

Me-TV will be available to any affiliate station with the digital equipment capable of broadcasting it. MGM plans to rotate shows regularly to provide fresh (retro) content.

MGM gets apocalyptic comedy

December 4, 2023 By Lorraine Marie

MGM is working acquiring the apocalyptic comedy 2012-ish: The Day the Earth Bent Over.
The movie is about a young scientist who tries to save the planet from catastrophes that endanger mankind. Among the cast is a buffoon president (sounds familiar) and a manic depressive head of NASA.
The movie is said to be a satire much like Airplane.
