Pierce Brosnan has revealed that they are working on the sequel to The Thomas Crown Affair.
The sequel will be directed by Paul Verhoeven and will have a theme that is similar to the 1964 heist movie Topkapi. Brosnan has assured though that only a “sliver” of Topkapi will be used, among them being the setting, which is Istanbul. This time around the object of the caper is a rare diamond and not paintings.
Renee Russo will not be returning in the sequel but there is talk that Angeline Jolie is in the running for the role of the female lead.
Both Pierce Brosnan and Nicolas Cage are set to star in The Ghost, a political thriller under the direction of Roman Polanski. The movie is based on the Robert Harris novel that tells the story of a ghostwriter hired to complete the memoirs of a former British prime minister. In the course of his work he discovers secrets that would endanger his life.
Brosnan is set to play the role of the prime minister and Cage is the ghostwriter.
Shooting for the movie will begin in Europe this fall.
