Ryan Seacrest developing dance show

March 9, 2023 By Marie F

Ryan Seacrest Productions is growing its television empire by creating a new dancing show for E!. Just Dance is said to be a reality show about choreographers and dancers in Los Angeles.

Laurie Ann Gibson is already slated as one of the cast members. Gibson is best known as Lady Gaga’s choreographer for videos like “Paparazzi,” “Telephone,” and “LoveGame.”

Just Dance has not yet been greenlit by E!, but it seems like a sure thing for the entertainment-focused network, which is enjoying a lovefest with Seacrest’s production company. E! has so far aired four Seacrest-produced shows, including Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Denise Richards: It’s Complicated.

Perhaps Just Dance is an attempt to keep RSP from becoming known as Dumb Blonde Productions. What do you think? Love Ryan Seacrest, or hate him?

Larry King hosting oil spill telethon tonight

March 9, 2023 By Marie F

As the catastrophic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico enters its 63rd day, CNN has announced that Larry King will be holding a mini-telethon to benefit those whose lives have been impacted by the spill, as well as animals who have been contaminated by the oil. The telethon will also raise awareness of the things people can do to help.

Airing on CNN tonight at 8:pm EST, King’s special two-hour edition of Larry King Live will feature appearances by Justin Bieber, Cameron Diaz, Robert Redford, Kathy Griffin, and Sting, who is expected to perform. Each guest will sit at phone banks taking calls and donations, which will go to the efforts of the United Way, the National Wildlife Federation, and the Nature Conservancy.

A second part of the telethon takes place online, where viewers will be able to sign into social networks like Facebook and Twitter, to participate in a special “Social Suite” hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

Amanda gets booted off American Idol

March 6, 2023 By Marie F

American Idol fans voted off Amanda Overymyer, the rocker with the wild hair and (according to Ryan Seacrest) one of the most “fearless” contestants the show ever had. However, Simon Cowell said that he agreed with the choice. He had criticized Overmyer for either being “too predictable” or “being too over-the-top.” (So which is it, Simon?)

The Top 10 contestants are David Archuleta, 17; Jason Castro, 20; David Cook, 25; Chikezie Eze, 22; Michael Johns, 29; Ramiele Malubay, 20; and Brooke White, 24. They are, at the very least, guaranteed a slot in the American Idol tour.

Kelly Pickler performed in the show, and Ryan Seacrest announced the season’s mentors: Dolly Parton, Mariah Carey, Neil Diamond and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
