Justice League of America (4th series) #0

July 21, 2006 By Spengs

This issue might confuse some, as is expected, since it is pretty confusing the first time through.  It serves as a history lesson and character insight on DC’s “Trinity” of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.  It’s told through flashbacks of previous get-togethers by the three (labeled “Yesterday”) and looks into possible futures their actions might lead them (labeled “Tomorrow”).  It’s an interesting look at the wildly different versions we’ve seen of the characters over the years during the various incarnations of the JLA, but that’s really all you’re going to get out of it.  The look into how each character feels about one another is interesting, but doesn’t really tell you anything you don’t already know.  It reads more like a confusing, disjoined scrapbook, if anything.  A nice thought, but not perfectly executed.
