Spawn #157

August 27, 2023 By Spengs

Wow, has this book become something that should be on everybody’s “Must read” list.  While most comic book fans gave up on Spawn many years ago, I remain one of the loyal few who still reads every issue.  And for those of us with the patience for the story-telling, it’s all paying off.  Armageddon has come to Earth and there’s no going back.  The rivers have turned to blood, mayhem is destroying the planet and humanity KNOWS all about the darkness Spawn faced for 156 issues.  This is the most major turning-point in the book’s history.  Twitch’s journal at the end is a very moving narrative that reads like something a person experiencing a monumental crisis would write.  And then there’s the revelation about the identity of Wanda’s twins.  You’ll never see this one coming.
