You may not have heard of the band before, but I have a strong feeling that as soon as you hear their music, you will be converted. Plus/Minus, or +/-, is considered an indietronic band. They are based in New York, but have gained a considerable following in Asia. They just closed their recent tour last night in Manila, Philippines, and it was quite a success; people who hadn’t heard of them before that night left the premises (Encore Fly at The Fort) wanting more. Needless to say, this band has made its mark in the indie music scene.
Their latest EP, titled Thrown Out Into The Fire, was released just last week. It is officially a Japan-only release, but you can purchase music directly from the band or through iTunes. This EP contains the following tracks:
1. Thrown into the Fire (Let’s Build a Fire US)
2. For You (Band Version)
3. Under Foot (Xs on Your Eyes Outtake)
4. All Dead All Dead (Queen Cover)
5. Catch the Wind (Donovan Cover)
6. Iru Iranai (moools Cover)
One thing I can say – it is a very good start for those who want to discover the music of these guys. I cannot claim to be very well versed when it comes to their music as I have only discovered them very recently. Still, I cannot help but be entranced. If you’re tired of mainstream music, or you just want to listen to something new that will NOT stress you out, try listening to this band for starters.
