Fringe Movie Trailer

March 10, 2023 By Marie F

Tonight’s Fringe is one fans have been on pins-and-needles waiting for, because this is when the season’s major storyline — Olivia trapped in the alternate universe, with her doppelganger taking her place here — comes to a head.

Entitled “Entrada,” tonight’s episode finds Peter and the gang from our universe discovering the truth, and launching a rescue mission to get their Olivia back before she’s seemingly dissected by scientists in the alternate universe. I don’t know who put this trailer together, but it was done to look like a big-screen movie trailer, complete with green-band intro.

Will our Olivia make it home? What will the fallout be with Peter? And what kind of retribution will Walternate order if Olivia escapes?

Fox Bumps Fringe to Fridays – for A.I.

March 10, 2023 By Marie F

Fox has done the unthinkable: it’s moving the never-been-better Fringe to the Friday night death slot. Yes, that same outpost where great genre shows have gone to die — including Firefly, Dollhouse, Wonderfalls, and more — is where Fringe will soon call home: 9:p.m. on Fridays.

The move is part of a larger plan by Fox make a bid for all-important Thursday night dominance. So by moving Fringe out of Thursdays, they now have room for the second night of Idiotic Pop Star Wannabes, sorry, I mean American Idol, which will also air on Wednesdays. Idol remains Fox’s strongest performer in ratings, so Fox is hoping to gain some ground on the most competitive night of the week by moving it to Thursdays — as well as tone down the rhetoric about the show losing viewers now that Simon Cowell is history.

Meanwhile, those of us that enjoy intelligence in our television viewing will once again have to set our DVRs to tune into one of our favorite shows. And we can only hope that the commitment Fox has displayed in the past to Fringe — despite its only-okay ratings — will remain in place, as the series is sure to take a major ratings hit on Fridays.

Fox is planning to rock all week long

March 9, 2023 By Marie F

Don’t you just love it when networks do theme-weeks or nights? (Yes, that was sarcasm.) Like that night years ago when NBC had all of their Thursday night programs involved in a New York City blackout storyline?

Fox has something similar up its sleeve. Inspired by the success of Glee, a full week of programming on Fox will find nearly every show on the network engaging in song-and-dance numbers. From Thursday April 29th through Wednesday May 5th, shows like Bones, Fringe, House, The Simpsons, and more will feature musical performances woven into their episodes.

This sounds like a horribly cheesy idea on the surface. No doubt about that. But on the other hand, maybe Fox’s shows will take this as an opportunity to really challenge themselves creatively and come up with some clever ways of incorporating music into their eps.

We can only hope.

Fringe gets full season

March 7, 2023 By Marie F

Great news for Fringe fans. The weirdly addictive show from JJ Abrams has been picked for a full season. Fox has ordered nine more episodes of the hit show, bringing it to a season-full of episodes.

The Observer will be happy.
