TNT has released a new trailer for Falling Skies, showcasing more of the big-budget epic scope and human drama of this post-alien-invasion series. Steven Spielberg produces this exciting new scifi series starring ER‘s Noah Wylie as a resistance leader.
TNT’s Falling Skies Trailer
This coming Summer, TNT is debuting a big-budget scifi series from co-created and produced by Steven Spielberg, called Falling Skies. It stars ER‘s Noah Wyle as the leader of a group of survivors on a post-alien-invasion Earth. You might think of it as The Walking Dead with aliens instead of zombies. I like the dire, James Cameron-esque tone of the show, and the special effects look seriously impressive. What do you think?
Dushku Lands TNT Drama Lead Role
Popular genre actress Eliza Dushku (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Tru Calling, Dollhouse) is taking a walk on the realistic side of TV drama in her new role as the female lead in TNT‘s Bird Dog.
Created by Mike Robe (Nightmares & Dreamscapes), Bird Dog is about a female cop in a small Pacific Northwestern town who gets unexpectedly teamed up with her father, who’s also a cop, but whom she’s never had anything in common with. Gail McGrath (Dushku) became a cop just like her father, but she’s not prepared when he shows up at her door as her new partner. The series will delve into procedural mystery while exploring the unusual dynamic of this father and daughter partnership.
Canceled: Medium, Dark Blue
It’s been a long time coming, but CBS has formally announced the cancellation of Medium. Currently in its fifth season after moving to CBS from NBC, Medium‘s ratings just weren’t strong enough to justify the rising production costs of the show.
CBS will air the show’s final episode on Friday, January 21st.
Also in cancellation news, TNT has pulled the plug on Dark Blue. Likewise citing low ratings, TNT decided that 2.2 million viewers per episode simply wasn’t enough to save the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced drama about undercover cops. Dark Blue just aired its second season finale in September.
