“Face the Face: Conclusion”. Well, Batman’s initial One Year Later arc has come to a close. The whole arc really just served as a means to return Batman to his status quo and give the audience a tour of this new post-post-post-Crisis Universe. In that regard, it did a splendid job; showing us the locales, the supporting cast, the villains and everything else. But at the same time, you can’t help but feel somewhat ripped-off. Years and years of character development and change have seemingly been flushed to make things “classic” again. It’s bitter-sweet at best. The end of the issue, while a bit anti-climactic (the revelation of who framed Harvey Dent is a total dud) still might make the hardcore Batman fan tear-up. Overall, it’s an average arc at best, but it got the job done. I’m more interested in seeing where Batman goes from here.
