First really funny issue in quite a while. A major Civil War tie-in gimmick, I can’t say I really care since I haven’t been reading Civil War. Still, Deadpool’s 4th Wall recaps at the beginning of the issue brought me up to speed fairly well. A much heavier focus on Deadpool’s rascally antics over Cable’s boring Jesus-wannabe shtick, this issue has been more entertaining than most of the recent ones since Gail Simone left. Deadpool’s fight with the various Avengers was rather good, particularly how he kept darting Hercules in the face. Overall, an improvement that came along just as I was considering dropping the book. Good work.
