People use cars to get to their jobs, but a few individuals have used their cars to create jobs. By taking normal vehicles and turning them into careers or vocations, these people have made awesomely original cars and trucks with all new purposes. Use these creative ideas to help pad your car insurance fund! Here are 3 awesome ways people have altered vehicles for other purposes.
Wedding Chapel
When the Rev. Darrell Best saw a fire truck from the 1940s for sale on the side of the road, he didn’t shrug it off — he saw it as an opportunity. He turned this old fire truck into a wedding chapel on wheels in order to create his mobile ministry.
After being in situations in which he didn’t have a physical building, he thought having a chapel that could move would be beneficial for a variety of people. So he recreated the vehicle and actually ended up becoming a Guinness World Record holder!
Food Trucks
Perhaps one of the most visible examples of vehicles being turned into businesses is the food truck. The food truck craze has hit quite a few major cities, and customers are able to enjoy gourmet food out of trucks that have been converted into mini “restaurants” on wheels.
From selling burritos to selling waffles, a variety of food trucks exist that offer all kinds of food and treats and are able to relocate if a certain location isn’t working so well. These trucks have created quite the splash in the food industry.
Duck Tours
This isn’t an isolated example of a cool car transformation a few people threw together: Duck Tours — which involve vehicles that can both drive and propel through the water — have actually become extremely popular in Boston, South Beach, and other areas.
While some ducks have been custom made now that the business has been thriving, in Boston, many of the ducks used were transformed from World War II DUKW vehicles, which were used to transport supplies and troops during the war. Talk about re-purposing!
Honorable Mention: Pedal Pub
This isn’t exactly a car, but it’s too awesome to leave off the list. The Pedal Pub is essentially a bar on a rather large and interesting-looking bike. The contraption allows the pedaling bikers to drink beer while someone else is steering. Sounds like the perfect setup!

Vehicles aren’t just for getting people from one place to another; they can be great for putting a cool spin on common business ideas and making them unique and fun. Whether it’s an individual person or a company working to transform a car into a commercial endeavor, the results can be amazing.
