November 29, 2016 By Olivia M

Blogging about your business is often frowned upon by some, depending on how you do it. It’s one thing to blog about subjects relating to your business, like how to use a certain product to do a certain thing. But using it just to talk about your products and their stats, or constant posts that say the same thing, just looks bad. However, your business needs a blog, which is a great marketing tool that can convert readers into customers.

The Importance of Good Website Content

October 22, 2014 By Teresa

The days of filling websites and blog posts with hundreds of keywords to drive traffic are gone. Instead, new search engine algorithms focus on quality, well-written content to rank websites. Search engines such as Google and Bing have realized that well-written content engages readers and promotes other sites to link to similar sites.

Defining Good Content

It is important to understand what it means to provide good content. Good content on websites is not only informative, entertaining and original, it must also be factual and grammatically correct. Writing is meant to deliver a message, drive home a point or make the reader think. Content on a website should reflect a direct measure of the knowledge of the site owner. [Read more…]

Getting Traffic for Your Mom Blog

November 17, 2011 By hannahgrace

Blogging about our family, money, and other life issues may all seem very personal, but is something that can definitely extend to something that is more than a hobby. The number of successful mom blogs that rake in enough money to at least help ease some of the financial burden at home is testament to this fact.

Making money out of your mom blog is, however, not really that easy. You do need to learn some of the basics of blog monetization such as placing ads on your blog, joining
affiliate programs, and finding ways to get more traffic for your blog.

Learning more about affiliate programs and the different kinds of ads you can place on your site is not that hard, after all there’s always the go to programs and services like those provided by big names like Amazon and Google. With so many convenient and easy-to-set up ad systems from reputable sources on the Internet, you need not really sweat the stuff to much.

Getting more traffic to come to your blog is an altogether different matter though. The reason for this is that there is no one way to go about it, with multiple strategies working hand-in-hand usually being more effective.

Promote your blog

If you have heard of SEO, then that is one way to do it. However, it is understandable if its only the basic SEO strategies you can implement like link building and keywords in your content. Another easier to understand strategy you can use is joining and being active in mom circles on the Internet. Since you probably do this already anyway (i.e. commenting on other mom blogs and joining in mommy forums), all you need to do is step up your game and be more active. This will get you in the radar of other moms, who will hopefully choose to visit your blog. Last but not least, submitting your blog to web portals and

directories is also a good idea. Just make sure you find good ones that can provide you more value than just a link, so that you don’t end up with only

a low value link and nothing much to boast of.

I recommend submitting your link to Blog Search Engine because they will review your blog and post it on their site if you opt for their standard package ($14.99). Opting for upgraded packages will earn you even more links from other sites on their network, make you’re the featured blogs for a specific number of days (depending on the package), and even place your banner ad on their homepage for up to a month. This is one easy way to promote your blog without having to learn much about technical SEO matters.

August 6, 2008 By Jim

Wisebread.com has posted a long list of top personal finance blogs made by women.  This was a result from the recent BlogHer Conference ’08 (held July 18-20 in San Francisco California).  You may want to hit that page for your perusal.  I think the list works well with the way economy is playing around the globe.  We all need to pinch every cent from every dollar!  And isn’t it really appropriate that women bloggers are taking the spotlight. 🙂   After all, women hold the family purse in most cultures, don’t they?

Let’s see some of these links, shall we?

  • A Penny Closer
  • Brunette on a Budget
  • Dimes to Dollars
  • The Family CEO
  • The Frugal Girl
  • No Limits Ladies
  • Tasha Gets Money Smart
  • TaxMama
  • The Ultimate Money Blog
  • Savvy Saver

These are just random selections, those I visited, at least.  Information varies from grass-roots savings to household management, to wise shopping.  It’s really informative!
