For the life of me, I couldn’t understand even a whit how some people would love to destroy their own faces by going to a dermaclinic in a vain effort to removes their wrinkles through Botox injection. This is definitely one of life’s many incomprehensibles.
Now there’s a recent warning from the Food and Drug Administration that those who have undergone Botox treatment stand a good chance not only of looking like Michael Jackson or the Predator (remember the alien monster?) but also of suffering from muscle spasms that have led to death in some cases.

This article should have been written before Feb. 14, but anyway, in case you’re still in the mood to give flowers to your sweetie, you should know that different flowers convey different messages.

To all the fatties out there: If the curious stares don’t bother you, if you really don’t give a damn about cracking the concrete floor you step on or breaking the bed you sleep on, if finding a satisfying partner is not really much of a problem, if your limited mobility is fine with you, then go ahead, put more of them stuffs into your mouth.
But wait! Here’s the latest medical bulletin from the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, Massachussetts.
Researchers said obesity is threatening to outrun smoking as the number one cause of cancer. Being obese ...
Wanna live past 100 years? Wanna see yourself in the eyes of the grandchild of your grandchild? Wanna see how science and technology would have evolved 70 or 80 years from now? Wanna see pictures of human colonies on Mars and expeditions to distant planets? Wanna see how the cell phone or the television or the Internet would have evolved by that time?
If only for that last one, I’m quite sure many of us would like to live past our centenary.
Now, the good news: It’s not that hard to live long, and I mean really loooong. Two new ...
Having a hard time catching those zzz’s at bedtime? Counting sheep doesn’t work? What about rats? It's the Year of the Rat anyway.
Still can't sleep like a baby? You may have a problem, but whatever it is, don’t play doc and try to take meds on your own, even if the meds are over-the-counter drugs.
Of course you don’t want to become an Anna Nicole Smith, or a Heath Ledger, do you?
Those two big-time celebs were victims of drug overdose.

This is the last of my three-part series on Feng Shui tips, just in time for the Chinese New Year on Feb. 7.
Earlier, I wrote about ridding your home of negative energy (Jan. 29) and de-cluttering your house (Feb. 1).
To make our home or office an ideal place where we can draw all the positive energies everywhere and maximize our potentials, to ensure the best for ourselves, we have to create an atmosphere that would invite good Feng-Shui.
After cleaning your house and office, do a double check. Have you removed all the non-essentials? Look again. There ...
If you want to live a happy, productive life, get all those pieces of rubbish out of your office or house!
You don’t need a Feng Shui expert to tell you that keeping all sorts of trash in your house or office – like old clothes, magazines, toys, newspapers and other bric-a-brac – will do you no good, and in fact will drain you of your energy and health.
And besides, wouldn’t your home look nicer without all those mess and clutter?
With the Chinese New Year just a few days away, you better hurry up and get all those mess ...
Have you ever been to a place where you feel uncomfortable but you can’t figure out why you’re feeling that way? If this sounds familiar, you are not alone. Many people feel uncomfortable in certain places and they can’t explain why.
People could offer you various explanations for this. But consider this possibility: Perhaps that particular space where you feel ill at ease is a repository of negative energy. Maybe somebody who died or who was ill had occupied that place for quite some time.
Homes and spaces often take on the energy of their previous occupants -- and you ...

According to a recent study on anger as published in this month’s issue of the Journal of Family Communication, a good tongue-lashing from one spouse to another may not only resolve marital conflicts but could also be good for the spouse’s health.
The study said results from a survey showed that disputing husbands and wives who don’t show their anger and let it simmer deep inside them die earlier than couples who blast each other at the slightest instance.
"When couples get together, one of ...
This news is a little sad for me because I am a huge fan of the TV sitcom “The Office”. I’ve been following this show for the past two years and have really admired all the characters. One of my personal favorites was Daryl, the Dunder Mifflin warehouseman whom Michael (the boss) always always try [...]
This post is a continuation of my Cliff’s Notes for Who Moved My Cheese, the book by Spencer Johnson, M.D. (also the Author of The One Minute Manager). Hope you enjoy my annotations of the rest of the principles!
What is your carbon footprint? Hmm… ok, let’s start over… What is a carbon footprint?
A carbon footprint is a “measure of the impact human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of greenhouse gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide“.
Here’s a nifty tool from ivillage.com, an online calculator to measure carbon footprints. I think this is [...]
Well loved queen of pop Madonna has spent 50 revolutions around the sun! That’s an awesome feat for someone who’s energized the world with good music… first-class entertainer. I’ve had my fair share of local and international travels. Everytime I “hit the road” I am always brought to “hit the wall” when the time comes to pack. I just couldn’t fit what I need to bring in a small suitcase. Really! My solution? Have the wife do the packing for me. I tell [...]
While summer can be the fun-filled time of the year IT CAN also be a huge debt trap. Every year, Americans splurge on summer expenses like trips, hotels, summer clothing, gears, and gadgets. Oh and all those have-nots that people just “need” to make summer extra perfect.
Every mall will hand out “special deals” to hook [...]
