My Top 3 TV Series On DVD
Christmas Day may have come and gone but it does not mean that you cannot give any more gifts, right? In fact, I still have a couple of people that I wonât be seeing till January so I have not bought gifts for them yet. I was thinking of getting them TV series on DVD. You might want to do something similar. Here are my top 3 picks.
The Gilmore Girls
Ok, I can hear people complaining â especially some men. But hey, you have to admit that the writing in this TV series is exceptional. The lines and the quips are just so witty that you really cannot expect to have them handy in real life. Well, unless you watch the shows over and over again. All the seasons of Gilmore Girls are available on DVD.
CSI
New York, Miami, Florida â each CSI fan his favorite âversionâ but I seriously wouldnât mind having them all. After all, CSI episodes are always fun to watch, especially one after the other.
Charmed
I have to say that Charmed is one of my all time favorite TV series. True, the story is so out of this world. It is fiction. But hey, who canât help but enjoy watching the Charmed ones kick the butts of all the evil demons that come their way? Not to mention the hip outfits and the romantic twists? I have the boxed set of seasons 1 to 8 and have seen them all over and over again. Oh, that reminds me, I think I shall start on one right now.
Whatâs on your âTV series on DVDâ list?
Fishburne Breathes New Life Into CSI
Matrix fans who are also into CSI found themselves short of ecstatic the night that Laurence Fishburne debuted on CSI. According to the statistics of that nightâs airing of the very popular show, the ratings of the show went up to numbers that are so far the highest for this season. It seems, however, that the high ratings cannot be totally attributed to Fishburneâs first appearance. According to The Live Feed, other television networks showed repeats on the same hour that night. Naturally, viewers would choose to watch something new over something that they have already seen.
The report on The Live Feed provides the numbers:
“CSI” was seen by 20.6 million viewers and earned a 5.7 preliminary rating among adults 18-49. Lead-in “Survivor” (13.2 million, 4.1) was up slightly from last week. Moreover, 10 p.m.’s “Eleventh Hour” (13.4 million, 3.8) enjoyed its best performance ever — and marked the first time the freshman series has won its hour.
For those who have been following CSI, it is a well known fact that William Petersen is central to the show. The fact that he is leaving has been worrying a lot of people â both on the production side and the viewer side. Will Laurence Fishburne be a suitable replacement for the longstanding Petersen? Will his character be able to sustain the momentum that the show has gathered through time?
These questions â and more â will only be answered when the departure is made final in the next few episodes. CSI fans, what do you think?
Fishburne being lured to CSI
With William Petersen leaving CSI soon, producers are frantically looking for his replacement.
According to reports, Laurence Fishburne is being wooed to replace Petersen. The new character is said to be a doctor/scientist and outsider. He has the genetic profile of serial killer but has never acted on any homicidal impulse.
Other actors that are supposed to be in the running for the role include John Malkovich and Kurt Russel. I love Fishburne but I am hoping Malkovich gets the role.
CSI’s Gary gets booked
CSI’s Gary Dourdan was arrested for drug possession and abuse. You’d think after all the episodes he’s done on crime, he’d know to keep his nose clean (of heroine).
